Periodontal Therapy
- Periodontal disease is an infection that occurs in the tissues supporting and surrounding your teeth and is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Some studies indicate that severe gum disease may be associated with several other health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or stroke.
- Periodontal disease may not be painful; therefore, many individuals don’t know they have it. If caught early, there are non-surgical therapies that can be used to treat and maintain periodontal disease.
- Scaling and root planning is a common treatment for periodontal disease, providing a deeper cleaning between compromised teeth and gums to help prevent the progression of the disease.
