Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease is an infection that occurs in the tissues supporting and surrounding your teeth and is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Some studies indicate that severe gum disease may be associated with several other health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or stroke.
Periodontal disease may not be painful; therefore, many individuals don’t know they have it. If caught early, there are non-surgical therapies that can be used to treat and maintain periodontal disease.
Scaling and root planning is a common treatment for periodontal disease, providing a deeper cleaning between compromised teeth and gums to help prevent the progression of the disease.
